Compound words are created when 2 words are joined together to create a new meaning Examples include: firefly, softball, redhead, keyboard, makeup, notebook.

How to Play:

Simply match the 3 pieces to complete the 50 compound word puzzles. Children start with the small piece showing a compound word (ex. mailbox)  They must then find the 2 words on the larger pieces that are joined together to make the compound word. ("mail" and "box")


  • 150 THIN laminated pieces (50 words total)  Large pieces are 6" x 2.75" and small pieces are 4" x 2.75"
  • Box measures 6.25" x 3.5" x 2.25"

Perfect activity to reinforce concepts.  This makes a great supplement to the curriculum by being a learning center activity or a fun and educational challenge for individuals or groups.
